Form ≠ Function

Form ≠ Function explores the concept of the absurd's role in gender-specific limitations. Synthesizing the ideas brought forth by Lesley Dill's "Bronze Dress" and Hiram Williams' "Man Gazing," this work intends to challenge the notion that femininity equates submissiveness.

Form ≠ Function was written in collaboration with the Harn Museum's Speechless collection, the University of Florida school of dance, and the Nu Quintet. This work is scored for woodwind quintet.
